New Technology to improve shelf-life of paper


 
Paper Research Institute and Lucknow University has identified the gene, which makes the paper yellow after a period of time. The ligin content in paper is the cause and current attempts to reduce it has been futile. Now, an antidote has been discovered, which will be useful to improve shelf life. Generated paper waster is also hazardous and currently 15% of paper goes waste. The new technology will also result in faster bamboo harvest and provide better quality.
