K.R. Pulp & Papers to expand its paper mill in Rampur in Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh with an investment of Rs. 2271 million. The project involves expanding Writing and Printing Paper (200 TPD) and Captive Co-generation Power Plant (12 MW) in an area of 24 ha. Bleached varieties of paper using agricultural residues mainly wheat straw / bagasse will be manufactured. Small quantity of ready-made pulp will be purchased from outside. Paper making process will involve raw material preparation; chemical recovery, bleaching; stock preparation, paper making, finishing and packaging. Elemental chlorine free method for bleaching will be used. No Cl₂ will be used in the process. Only ClO₂ to be used for bleaching.
