Ruchira Papers to expand its paper manufacturing unit at Sirmaur


Ruchira Papers to expand its paper manufacturing unit at Kala Amb Industrial Area in Nahan, Sirmaur in Himachal Pradesh. The project also involves setting up of  Paper (Writing  & Printing) Plant, Unit-II (100 TPD with an investment of Rs. 1349 million. 0       Agro residue pulp (185 TPD), Purchased pulp (16.6 TPD), Filler (Soap stone, 38 TPD) will be used as raw material.          Proposed project is based on manufacturing of bleached varieties of paper using agricultural wheat straw.  Small quantity of readymade pulp will also be purchased from outside.  Soapstone will be used as filler.  Chlorine di-oxide will be used as bleaching agent and no elemental Chlorine will be used for bleaching.  Chemical recovery plant will be installed.

West Coast Paper Mills commissions 800 tpd metso cooking plant

West Coast Paper Mills has commenced trial operation of its 800 tpd cooking plant with technology from Metso on 29th March 2009. This forms a part of its ongoing expansion programme to increase its total capacity from 180,000 tpa to 320,000 tpa with an investment of Rs. 13000 million.

WBIDC, Emami Group to set up a writing paper plant in West Benga

Emami Group and WBIDC is planning to invest Rs. 22000 million to set up a writing & printing paper manufacturing plant in Kultikuri in Midnapore district of the state. The plant will set up with Scandinavian and German technology. The plant will be a part of WBIDC ‘Paper & Allied Park’ and will occupy 1415 acres of land. Of this 600 odd acres are yet to be procured while the remaining is under the ownership of Emami. The plant will become operational after 42 months from the date of possession of land. Paper plant will provide direct employment to 8000 people and will produce 2,00,000 tonnes of paper. The plant will also require 6.5 lakh of pulp wood, of which one-third will be procured from govt. sources and the remaining will be from Emami Social forestry, Balasore.
