J K Paper to expand Orissa paper mill

J K Paper Ltd is planning to invest Rs. 15,000 million to expand its production capacity. It is setting up a new greenfield paper mill with a capacity of 2,00,000 tpa of pulp mill and 1,50,000 tpa of paper in Rayagada in Orissa. The new unit will go operational by mid 2012.

The company had ground breaking ceremony in September 2010 and the Orissa Chief Minister was present. With this new plant, its total capacity will go up to 3.6 lakh tpa. The company had set up a brand new paper machine from Voith, Germany with certification from ColorLok technology from HP. The new technology paper will reduce paper jamming and is used for high speed digital machines.

TNPL expanding its Kagithapuram factory

Tamil Nadu Newsprints and Papers Ltd, is expanding its paper plant at Kagithapuram in Karur district of Tamil Nadu. The project involves setting up of a paper machine of a 155,000 tonne per annum capacity to increase the production capacity to 400,000 tonnes per annum from the current 200,000 tonnes and the pulp mill capacity to 880 tonnes per day. The company is also investing in a de-inking pipeline with 320 tpd capacity with an investment of Rs. 1740 million and another Rs.1340 million to revamp the steam and power system. The total project investment will be around Rs.8760 million and will be spread over 3 years and to be completed by 2011.

ITC plans new paper plant with an investment of Rs. 50000 million

ITC Papers & Boards which has diversified into FMCG in recent years is having its focus right on paper industry. It seems the paper business is profitable ones. It plans to invest Rs.40,000 to Rs.50,000 million in a new paper mill in Gujarat , Madhya Pradesh or Andhra Pradesh. It is scouting for 1500 to 2000 acres of land. Currently, the company operates a 0.5 mtpa paper plant.

J. B. Daruka Paper to expand its paper mill unit at Sitapur

J. B. Daruka Paper to expand its paper mill unit at Advenia Grant, in Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The project involves expanding agro-based paper plant (20 TPD to 150 TPD) and Co-gen Power Plant (4.0 MW).
